Model & resolution

Model and resolution together set the base price per image and whether 4K pricing applies. See Credits & rules. This doc lists image model and resolution dropdown options and how they interact.
Image model (dropdown)
In image mode, the left panel shows an image model dropdown with 3 options:

| Display name | Subtitle |
|---|---|
| Nano Banana 2 | Efficient Preview |
| Nano Banana Pro | High Quality Preview |
| Nano Banana | Fast Generation |
- Image model: Each model emphasizes different tradeoffs in speed, style, and quality (e.g. base, HD, flagship). The model directly affects credit cost per image.
- When you switch models, if the current resolution or aspect ratio isn’t supported by the new model, it is reset automatically (see below).
- The model determines which resolution options and extreme aspect ratios are available.
Resolution (dropdown)
The resolution dropdown only appears when Nano Banana Pro or Nano Banana 2 is selected. Nano Banana is fixed at 1K and has no resolution dropdown.

| Model | Resolutions |
|---|---|
| Nano Banana 2 | 512, 1K, 2K, 4K |
| Nano Banana Pro | 1K, 2K, 4K |
| Nano Banana | 1K only (no dropdown) |
- Resolution: Choose output size in the dropdown; some models support 4K, which uses extra credits.
When you switch models:
- From Nano Banana 2 to Nano Banana Pro or Nano Banana: If resolution was 512, it becomes 1K; if aspect ratio was extreme (4:1, 1:4, 8:1, 1:8), it becomes Auto.
- From Nano Banana 2 to Nano Banana: Resolution is fixed at 1K; extreme ratios also reset to Auto.
Summary
- 3 image models: Nano Banana 2, Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana.
- Resolution: NB2 → 512/1K/2K/4K; NB Pro → 1K/2K/4K; NB → 1K only.
- When you change models, resolution and aspect ratio stay within what the new model supports.
If the product adds or removes models or resolutions, follow the in-app UI.
